In our show house center in Hohenstein-Oberstetten, the existing show house from 2006 was converted into the „Galileo House of the Future“ – the ProSieben knowledge magazine Galileo is showing a visionary show house full of product innovations that demonstrates how comfort, energy efficiency and living space optimization can be combined.
A prestigious show home, which was built in 2006 to be very spacious and barrier-free and was intended to be occupied by two people (and a carer), has now been transformed into a lively family home for up to seven people.
Together with architect Anne Kozlowski, smart home influencer Simon42 and futurologist Harry Gatterer, a low-barrier living concept was created that brings megatrends such as connectivity, neo-ecology, social cocooning, sharing culture and healing architecture to life.
The floor layout takes multi-generational living into account – flexible room solutions, modular furniture and natural materials create a healthy, sustainable home for several generations. The conversion makes it clear that the future does not lie in new builds, but in the intelligent conversion of existing buildings into zones that can be used flexibly: Rooms can be used multifunctionally, furniture is modular, on castors or can be moved in and out. Instead of fixed partition walls, built-in elements and storage furniture define zones and uses.
